This
Lady in Blue She was a wonderful,
warm, lady, When this lady put
on her blue sun hat and her blue dress with shoes to match she was a sight to
see, Monday nights she
made her way to the Abilene Gem and Mineral Society club house.
She saw beauty in nature and its gem stone products, She was a friend
to all she met, She showed a
sincere interest in projects others were working on, Her smiles were
warm and radiant even through the pain we knew she felt, She lost her
daughter from cancer a few years before and knew it was trying to take her too, This lady
entertained our club members at her home several times. The last of these meetings we suspected
she might not be with us much longer, We saw her
strength begin to wain as the depth of pain began to take more permanent
residence of She didn’t want
to leave us and we didn’t want her to go, but soon God came and took her away, When we see Blue
Birds and blue gemstones we will remember the strength and magnificence of, We loved her and
we will miss her, Martha Elliott passed from our midst Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000.
